Information used to make your captions

AutoCaptionGenerator processes the files you upload, extracted audio, transcripts, caption edits, style settings and generated videos. When you sign in, we also process your email, account identifier and session information. Support messages, device and request information, security logs, subscription status and usage counters help us operate the service.

Why we process it

We use this information to verify uploads, recognize speech, save edits, render exports, deliver sign-in codes and requested export notifications, apply plan limits, handle support, prevent abuse and diagnose failures. Product analytics, when enabled, measure how the service is used. Do not include confidential or sensitive material unless you have the necessary permissions and are comfortable with it being processed by the service providers described below.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the website; Neon stores account and project records; Cloudflare stores media and provides bot protection; Hetzner hosts video processing; Groq and Deepgram provide speech transcription; Resend delivers transactional email; and Upstash supports rate limiting. These providers receive information needed for their part of the service. Polar handles payment details and purchase records; we receive the account and subscription information needed to provide paid access, rather than storing your card details.

When product analytics is enabled, PostHog receives usage events and technical diagnostics. Session replay may record interactions; input values and transcript elements are masked by the application configuration. Providers may process data outside your country.

Cookies and browser storage

Session cookies keep you signed in. Browser storage preserves preferences and can retain an in-progress upload on your device so it can recover after an interruption. Analytics may use identifiers to connect visits and product events when enabled. Clearing browser storage can end a session or remove upload recovery data; it does not delete your server-side account.

Retention and deletion

Guest projects expire after 24 hours. Signed-in Free projects have a 7-day retention period and Starter projects a 90-day period. The expiry displayed for a project is the date to follow. Scheduled cleanup removes expired media, including stored originals and generated exports. Deleting a project starts the same removal process; it is not an instant deletion of every operational copy.

Account, billing, security and backup records can follow different retention periods where needed for service operation, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Download anything you need to keep before its project expires.

Contact and choices

Send access, correction, export or deletion requests to contact@autocaptiongenerator.com from your account email where possible. We may need to verify account ownership before acting. You may also have rights to object, restrict processing or complain to a data-protection authority under the law that applies to you.
