How AutoCaptionGenerator works, what each plan includes and what to do when something does not go to plan.

Upload a video from the homepage. You can start without an account: the speech is transcribed into captions with word timings and the editor opens with your video. Sign in when you are ready to export, and the project moves into your account with your edits.
The Free plan includes 3 video projects exported each month, videos up to 10 minutes, exports up to 1080p, and the free caption styles. Downloading a revised version of a project you already exported is included.
Starter includes 200 video projects a month, videos up to 120 minutes, exports up to 4K and every premium style. Neither plan adds a watermark. See pricing for prices and refunds and cancellation.
Upload an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file. Free uploads can be up to 500 MB; Starter uploads up to 5 GB. Whether a file plays also depends on the audio and video codecs inside it. MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio is the safest choice; if a file will not open, exporting it again from your phone or editing app in that format usually fixes it.
Click a word in the transcript to correct it; its timing stays where it was. Choose a style from the caption styles, then adjust the font, size, colours and position, or drag the captions directly on the video. The editor can show where TikTok, Reels and Shorts place their buttons, the same zones as the safe zone checker.
An MP4 export burns your captions into the picture in the style you chose, so they look the same everywhere. SRT and VTT are separate timed-text files for platforms and editors that add captions themselves; the platform then decides how they look, so styles and highlights do not carry over.
Guest projects last 24 hours. Projects in a Free account are kept for 7 days and Starter projects for 90 days, after which their media is removed by scheduled cleanup. Download anything you want to keep before then.
The video preview will not play. Use Retry video on the preview; it fetches a fresh copy without uploading again. If it keeps failing, the file may use a codec your browser cannot play, so try an MP4 copy.
A word or name is wrong. Automatic transcription can slip on names, accents and specialist terms. Correct it in the transcript before exporting.
